Ignorance = Bliss?

TODAY, ten years ago, our nation was shaken when racism and injustice led to anger and violence. Ten years, a whole decade, 3652 days have gone by. No one has forgotten, many choose not to think about it. Can we say that we are better off today?

Anyhoo, I decided to post a quick entry only cause I’ve been missing in action for so many days. I don’t want someone out there to think I got run over by a bus, overdosed on some shite, or anything spooky like what happened to poor Elisabeth (She is OK guys, don’t freak out or start some rumour / i-net drama, alright?). I’ve just been not in the mood to pour my heart out on this particular page (hint: the fact that the word “this” is being emphasised may imply that I am putting my thought into HTML code elsewhere; unless you really care to know where and ask me directly, I won’t tell).

[Almost] everything is fine and dandy with me at the moment. I’m getting a little sick, probably I’m catching that darned flu that kicked my best friend’s arse last week. The trip to the islands was just wonderful. Lots of lovely sights, beautiful people, great cuisine, and plenty of alcohol. I enjoyed it very much and so did everyone else that the company brought along. I have a couple of incidents that I would like to detail, but I will do so tomorrow cause I am a little tired right now.

One of the incidents that I would like to share with deals with racism, so please stay tuned and learn more about the ignorance of some members of our zoociety. And talking about ignorance, some idiot whom I will not dignify with a link (why give undeserved traffic to assholes?) went over to my Flowah’s page and decided to spew a nasty sample of mental diarrhea. The link that he provided (a freaking diaryland page) was down when I first checked it, but when I looked at it afterwards it turns out that the guy supposedly “loves” the likes of Amel Larrieux, Miles Davis, Urban Culture and other people and things that do not match his idiotic comment. One thing that has always bothered me is racism. The use of terms like “you people,” “those people,” and the such reflect prejudice and separatism. Those two words combined equal that great evil that has lead to a lot of pain throughout history (By the way, did I mention that today marks ten years since the L.A. Riots? Oh, yes I did). Ignorance and lack of intelligence reflect in this young man’s words. The things that people will say or do for some drama and a few hits, tsk, tsk, tsk… I will say no more.

Moving right along, I just learned tonight as I’m watching one of the last episodes of the X-Files, that Ally Mcbeal is coming to an end. What? Hell NO! Is anyone interested in buying my TV set? I will have no use for it four weeks. My shows are gone! Everything else that keeps popping up on TV sucks after a few promising episodes. OK, let me compose myself. For real, how can they do this? I knew the show was not doing as well, but why bring Christina Ricci into the show then? I thought they were gonna revamp the whole law firm, but I guess it sin’t so. Well, I guess my Monday nights will be dedicated to reading some good books or something. Oh my, look at the time… see ya, bye-bye… Expect a new temporary layout to be up tomorrow night (that’s only if I can get freaking Greymatter installed again). CIAO!
