I may have re-discovered the mysteries of dating. What? Those who know me probably think I am pulling their hair (or their leg, whatever). No sex as of yet, fourth date (sorta, I’d prefer no details). Problem is that I am well aware of the fact that my heart still belongs and beats for somebody else. But would anyone really give a damn about that?
In any case, let’s see for how long my interest will last. I tend to get the “itch” rather early into the dating game. I’m moving carefully and without any expectations, thus if nothing comes out of it I won’t find myself singing something sappy or tacky at the end.
Oh, I am amazed at how damn good the new Alanis Morissette actually sounds. Intelligent songwriting, nice vocals, good instrumentation, so much better than her second album and that one was actually pretty (no, very) good. I am loving every track so far. The release is scheduled for 26 Feb. but it is (obviously) available for download through Audio Galaxy and other
services (I wonder if the record labels actually leak these tracks on purpose, hoping to start some controversy). My favourite song so far is the opening track, the guitar tinged “21 Things I want In a Lover,” and the quite sweet “Hands Clean.” I love this artist; even if radio killed her first album everyone’s gotta admit that she is a talented crazy girl.
Anyways, I am also working on a new presentation for this site, this plain look is horrifying, especially to those who land on it by mistake (thanks to some search engine, looking for results on “nude women mud wrestling”). I have been focused on learning Flash in the past weeks (the works I have come up with are stored in a site elsewhere, which for now I care not to share with anyone). I have gotten some nice programs recently; among them Poser 3 (yeah, not version 4, but this one is legal) which came free with the January issue of Computer Arts magazine. I got it two weeks early, thanks to my subscription, but the issue should still be available at the local store, so run out there and get it.
Also, and this will probably make me sound like a weirdo, I am really hating Photoshop 6.0. Very not user friendly, memory eating, not as wonderful as everyone else makes it to be, silly program. I think I will stick to my other ones (Micrografx Picture Publisher 8, which I had for over a year, Paint Shop pro, and my ware version of Painter 6.1). Photoshop is nice as far as layers go, but it is too cumbersome for many other tasks. Funk that.
So, am I back on the i-net scene? I can’t say for sure. I like the drama-less world outside. I like drawing (which I have been doing outdoors every weekend) and spending time doing other things; the net is just a release. I can’t say whether or not I’ll stick around for joy. For now this is all I have to share. Now I have to go meet my new emotional interest.
