Day After X-Mas…

Bloged in by m. Wednesday December 26, 2001

Well, hope everyone had a nice Holiday, full of gifts, food, love, and all that cheesy stuff. Mine was quite good. Spent a nice time with my family, got lots of gifts, enjoyed a quiet afternoon at home, and made plenty of plans for the upcoming year.

I did have a lot to say these past few days, but I am not feeling like turning thoughts and emotions into HTML code. Nothing bad has happened (at least not to me or my family directly), so don’t anybody worry. I’m just taking time to enjoy the daily things rather than stressing so much about what ifs and whatnots. I got plenty of plans and ideas brewing in my head at this moment; I truly hope to put them all to work and make a positive change in my existence pretty soon.

Since I don’t really know what else to type at this moment, here’s a brief list of most of the presents I got during the holidays (remember, I am lucky enough to celebrate both Christmas and Chanukah — how convenient some might say). I am not bragging, just very happy and grateful (not so much for what these items represent monetarily, but because plenty of thought and care was put into getting these things):

  • A new Palm Pilot from my section at work. They felt I needed another gadget, especially one that could keep my busy life in order. I love these kids. I was not expecting this.
  • Two dance CDs: One is a chill out compilation titled Paris Lounge (some awesome stuff in it) and the other is a French House remix titled Suite 706 by Jacky Jayet (nice and mellow). These were brought my way by my beloved Jazz (I’m gonna miss her now that she moved to another company)
  • A very nice Armani exchange shirt (along with two dress shirts by Perry Ellis) from my mums. New clothes are always good :)
  • Two tutorial books: one on PHP and the other one on Freehand. This time I will make sure to dedicate myself to learning this stuff. These were given to me by my lil’ sis.
  • A novel: Agnes Grey by Anne Bronte. I always wanted the hardcover version on this one. Thank you big L.
  • Ari gave me a surprise bag from Bath and Body Works filled with incense and goodies for the shower.
  • Cata got me a very stylish candle and Martini glass. I love my girl :)
  • Three DVDs: Janet’s Special edition of All For You, David Duchovny’s Return To Me, and George Michael’s best of. These came from Ed.
  • A huge bottle of CK One, given to me by Ce.
  • Gift certificates to Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, and Spec’s (the record store)

Damn! That’s actually a lot more than what I deserve. So thanks again to everyone. I love you back!!

So, I guess that’s it. I also must say that I spent a good amount of money of presents for friends and family. Sometimes giving is better than getting. But I will definitely close this entry by saying that we may trade all sorts of commodities during this season, but the truth is that the love we give is the only and best thing that we keep.

Oh, PS./ Congrats Spence on becoming an uncle!! Now that was an awesome present to have delivered right on the 25th. Life is full of surprises.

  • Whenever, Wherever, Whatever…

I have so many things to write about, so much stuff to discuss (both good and bad). I am however very busy these days, and I’ve been rather uninterested in the i-net. I’ve just been doing my usual reads (I am sooo glad to see Jenn is back from her rather lengthy hiatus — I hope everything works itself out for her), working on a sports page for one of my best friends (in real life), working, and doing things here and there. Since I am off from work this weekend I will try to update this journal, change a few things around as far as design goes, and post some stuff that I have been meaning to do for a long time.

In the meantime, my music recs for this week are Shea Seger (beautiful lyrics, smart sounds, great voice and style), Shakira’s English language album (much, much, much better than I expected), and that awfully catchy single that’s topping the UK charts this week by Daniel Bedingfield (titled “Gotta Get Thru This,” it is a great piece of dance, garage, European R&B, and more). Oh, and I am actually beginning to really like the last album by the Dave Matthews Band (a rather unusual treat for me). Anyways, I have to attend some corporate breakfast early in the morning, so I’d better say nighty nite.

    Back For More…

I am back from California (got back in town late Sunday night). Had the most wonderful time while I was there. I will update with more details tomorrow or Thursday. I think some of the crap that I needed to deal with is finally settled. New attitude, new outlook, new way of thinking. Let’s see how long it will last.

Oh yeah, and this new red look ain’t the shite, I know, and final touches need to be put on all content pages. But I am in the mood for blue no more. I will work on that later this week. Too busy and tired at this very moment. But I LOVE life. Especially life on my OWN.
